It must be said that I have never been a great football fan. In fact, as soon as the word ‘football’ is mentioned, I feel a sense of boredom starting to decend. However, the World Cup has brought about a newly found pleasure! The Argentina match against Nigeria at the weekend actually got a cheer or two out of me!

There is no getting away from it…so as the old saying goes: “if you can’t beat them, join them”. (It beats watching yet another series of Big Brother anyway.)
Any other ‘World Cup Converts’ out there? I would love to hear your top tips for World Cup survival!

You’ve heard of No Tears Shampoo, the Denman Tangle Tamer is a No Tears Brush. Eliminate the temper tantrums and arguments while brushing with the Denman Tangle Tamer. It does exactly what it says on the brush!

Due to the bristle formation of this product, the super soft nylon bristles gently glide through the hair removing tats and tangles. The air-cushioned pad follows the contour of the head for smooth damage-free grooming.
I kid you not – parents are buying this brush in pairs in the event they might misplace one. Works great on adults too! http://www.denmanbrush.com/acatalog/kids-brushes.html

Over 40,000 people flocked to Bangor’s Ward Park over the weekend to see Snow Patrol’s homecoming gig. Reported to be their largest outdoor concert ever (bigger than U2’s previous concerts in Northern Ireland), Snow Patrol played all of their famous songs, as well as a preview of their new releases.

Bangor – home to Snow Patrol…home to Denman! (not entirely sure if Gary Lightbody uses a Denman hairbrush though?)

Denman International are supporting HAIR-raising, the fundraising appeal spearheaded by John Frieda and supported by luminaries from the world of hair. We have donated 1,000 D3 bespoke HAIR-raising brushes to assist with raising £1million towards new operating theatres at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. The new operating theatres will be used to help children from all over the UK who require specialist neurosurgery.

The HAIR-raising campaign is also fully supported by Denman’s Global Brand Ambassador, hairdresser Mark Woolley, seen above using the bespoke HAIR-raising D3 brush.

It’s all David Phillips’ (Supply Chain Co-Ordinator) fault – he has become the ‘Denman jinx’ when travelling to and from hairdressing events across the globe. A volcano eruption is his best attempt yet!

Though the texture of African-American hair is generally coarser and more wiry than that of Caucasians, it is nevertheless very delicate and breaks easily. The main thing is to be gentle with your hair. Brush your hair with a slow, gentle action to avoid pulling and breakage.

Use any of the Denman Freeflow brushes to detangle hair without causing any damage. The widely-spaced pins set into an anti-static rubber pad is particularly effective for getting through any type of hair, especially thick, coarse hair. Brush it through in sections starting with the underneath and working up to the outer layer. This will help you to avoid over-brushing the outer layer as this can make it fly-away. All of the Denman classic styling brushes are characterised by smooth, firm nylon bristles embedded in a pure rubber base. The nylon bristles are rounded at the ends, so they do not scratch the hair or scalp. The rubber base is semi-circular in shape and this becomes more defined in the larger sizes. During blowdrying, you can rotate the brush through the ends of the hair, adding slight curl and bend. The Denman classic styling brushes are particularly heat resistant, so they can be used with a hair dryer. They can also be easily cleaned using soap and water.
The D14 small styling brush has only 5 rows of nylon bristles, making it the perfect compact tool for shorter hair types, or for shaping fringes. Excellent handbag size for on-the-go styling!
The D3 medium styling brush has 7 rows of nylon bristles, and is recommended for medium to longer hair. It is Denman’s most popular styling brush!
